The elbow joint is the hinge joint in the middle of the arm that also allows for rotation of the forearm.
In combination with the wrist, the elbow allows for the hand to rotate and perform a variety of highly specific movements.
A number of things can cause the elbow to hurt including damage to the joint surfaces or the soft tissues that surround and control them.
